Addy decided a couple of years ago that she wanted to get her ears pierced when she was 8. OK by me. I have told her that she could get her ears pierced whenever she wanted, as long as she could clean them herself. Well, when she made mini company that all changed. This weekend we were up in Salt Lake with the whole family and she did it! She was so brave! I on the other hand was a little well...... freaked out (which was a totally unexpected emotion on my part). I think I was more nervous than she was. I was nervous because I wanted them to be straight, I was so worried they would be uneven. Plus it is just one more sign that my little girl is no longer my little girl but in fact practically a little lady! In the end they turned out perfect and there was not one tear shed by Addy or me!
Before......
During... I love that face! So serious
The end......She was all smiles
P.S. If I have not said it already.....I HATE MY CAMERA! I have no idea why it all of the sudden gives these crazy WRONG dates! UGH so frustrating! It should say 08/29/2009.

Uncle Bubba, Heather & little Miss Holly
My brother lives in Florida so when they come out to visit, we PARTY! We all got together Saturday afternoon. We swam......
some of us watched movies........
But mostly we ate and just chatted. I love my family and it is so awesome to all get together. Here we all are!
Ky and Holly. So cute that they are such good buddies. We miss them so much and can't wait until they move back closer. I think Holly loved all the attention from her cousins.Sunday we went to my sister Tina's ward. She actually had to speak, which was fun for us to be there. She did an amazing job. Here is my fam along with my brother-AKA Uncle Bubba, Heather and little miss Holly.
It was a great weekend even though the Coon's-Bubba and Heather- DOMINATED at every game of Settlers we played. I like to think we went easy on them due to the fact they were visiting, but I would just plain be lying! I am so lucky! I have the most amazing brother whom I just literally adore. He really is one of my best friends. His wife, on the other hand is a saint in my eyes. She is more than amazing. Not only does she put up with my brother but she loves him and takes such good care of him. She is a great Mom and also one of my best friends. I love them both so much and miss them more than words can say. Thanx for coming to visit and it is our turn to come and visit you.
Again my camera SUCKS! Date should be 08/29/2009 and 08/30/2009

Back To School!
School shopping.....CHECK. Haircut.....CHECK. Back to school night.....CHECK. Outfit picked out.....CHECK. Backpack ready.....CHECK. Fathers Blessing.....CHECK. First Day Of School Here.....CHECK!!!!!
Today was Addy's first day of 2nd grade! She has been so excited! We had back to school night on Tuesday and she met her teacher, Mrs.Berkey. All she kept saying is that, "She is so nice!" This morning went great. Wonder how long that will last??? Here she is ready to go!
It is tradition that on the first day of school we have cookies and milk right when they get home. We do it more frequently, but on the first day of school it is a must! She told us all about her day while eating yummy cookies. Then it was homework time. It was a little bit of a struggle, not sure if it was harder to keep her on task or to keep Dawson from continually distracting her. I think he really missed her.
For dinner it is always tacos on the first and last day of school as well! A tradition in my family that we all just love. Addy had a great day and I have no doubt it will be a great year as well!

Hooray for Addy
Addy has been dancing, like most little girls, since she could walk. She has been taken lessons since she was 2! She loves dance! This past year she decided she wanted to try out for the competitive dance team at her studio. Since dance is her passion I was all for it. I am not going to lie, as it got closer I was more nervous then I ever anticipated. Addy has had the opportunity to try out for the past 2 years. For whatever the reasons has just chose not to. We found out this morning that she made the team! It is called Mini Company! She was so excited and ran up to me and hugged me so tight! That is one of the most amazing feelings as a Mom! When your child has accomplished something that they really want and have worked hard for and they share that excitement with you! I am so proud of her! I love her and am excited for this next year! Congrats Miss Addy Rae! Last years dance recital.

Ditch the Highchair?????
Man Ky is getting so big so fast! He now likes to eat his snacks at the table. So cute! We tried dinner at the table but he is just not tall enough and can't see to shovel it in fast enough! That's just a fit no one wants to see, or mess I really don't want to clean! So for now there will be no ditching of the highchair.

STREAKER!
Yup that's right we have a streaker in our neighborhood! This was his 1st time and hopefully his last if his Mother has anything to say about it, which I do! You guessed it-my son is the streaker. My sweet Dawson was in a little predicament. We had just gotten back from Canyon Park where the kids had played in the river and the sand. He was trying to get in the shower like his Mom asked, what an obedient little guy, when the shower nozzle broke off. I was next door at the neighbors picking up Ky because their daughter watched him for a service to earn her Faith In God. Naturally Dawson needed help so he came to get me, BUCK NAKED! He never rang the door bell just hung out outside in the buff. People drove by,Natalie, and honked at him and that didn't even phase him. My neighbors daughter opened the door because she heard something and there was Dawson just chillin on their porch naked. Avery was a little, well shall we say, taken back. I went to the door thinking he was still just in his swim suit but found him in his birthday suit instead. He gave me the low down on the problem and then started to cry. Yup he was crying, but not because he was naked but because he thought he broke the shower and would be in trouble! It was so hard not to laugh. I guess the fact that my neighbor did not find this HILARIOUS helped me out in that department! While I was getting the low down I saw from the corner of my eye an arm sticking out the door with a towel. I quickly wrapped Dawson up and sent him on his way home. I gathered up Ky's things, and with the help of Avery, our little neighbor gal, started home when I saw Dawson holding the towel above his head like a cape and running around on our grass. I couldn't help it and a laugh escaped, his tan line and his little white butt, a sight only a Mom can love or appreciate I guess. I turned and tried to have as straight of a face as my neighbor friend but it just was not happenin! I apologized as best as I could and as I walked away I laughed my butt off! Seriously! Ah to be so comfy in the buff! That being said I hope this is not going to the beginning of a series of nude sighting in our neighborhood!

The Ironmen!
Today was Dawson's 1st soccer game. His team is the Ironmen! It was a blast watching them! He was so excited! He woke up this morning and put his uniform right on. He got upset when a few drops of Ky's milk dripped onto his shorts. He said," I don't want his milk on my soccer uniform!" Then when we got home from his game he cried when we told him he had to take his uniform off. He would live, eat and sleep in it if I let him, which I did let him sleep in it the first night he got it! It is so fun to have him be so excited! He played great and made some goals which made him even more excited!
The end of the game cheer! Great game Ironmen!

Our Summer Favs!
Oh the lazy days of summer, where did they go?? We were so busy this summer the lazy days were far and few between, but enjoyed none the less! We had a great summer! I am finally getting to some of our favorite memories this summer that have not yet been blogged. We don't want to forget the.............
The many Popsicles with messy faces!
Nice cool treats and hanging out in our swim suits ALL DAY LONG!
Having water fun in our backyard
Addy and Dawson both learning to ride their bikes without training wheels!!! A huge milestone! They both learned on the day we got back from Hawaii. It took Bry about half an hour and they were off sailing! YEAH!!!!
All the parades and the candy that comes with them!
Watching Grandpa Wood play in a band during the July Jamboree! It was fun to see him up there rockin out. The kids thought it was just awesome!
Another session of swim lessons! This session it all just clicked for Dawson! He improved so much. Now when he swims he actually looks like he is swimming instead of a tornado hitting the water! Great job Dawson!
As excited as I am for school to start a part of me, not sure how big of a part, is very sad to see summer end!

Lemonade and Golfing
Addy has been going through an earning money phase lately. Don't get me wrong, all in all it is a good thing. I think it is really important for her to learn the value of money. She is more than willing to do extra chores around the house for some $$ which is nice and refreshing. However it does get a little annoying every time I ask her to so something, she replies,"Do I get paid for that." Well she decided to do a lemonade stand and sell not only lemonade but sodas as well to the golfers. Perfect! She asked her BFF Brooklynn if she wanted in on the money making idea. They spent this morning making a sign and planning out their strategy! After lunch we got all set up on the golf course! The girls were so excited! They were even nice enough to let Dawson tag along.
After about an hour or so I went to go check it out and see how things were going, and of course I needed some pics. They were thrilled they had already made some money!
They already have plans to do it on Mens League night, which Daddy golfs in, on Thursday night! So if you know any golfers who golf for League, tell them to hit up the lemonade and soda stand with theses cuties!

Best Friends in Old Stompin' Grounds
This weekend we made a quick trek up to Logan, my old stomping grounds! I love going back there. I loved living there and will always have great memories of there! Friday Bry met up with some friends and surprise surprise, golfed! What else is a girl to do but shop! Man I miss actually shopping in Logan, everything(minus a Target) right at my fingertips! Ahhhhhh anyway. That night we headed off to a BBQ with most of my bestest friends in the whole wide world! I love these gals! We have been friends since High school and I am proud to say we have kept in touch and have been there for each other through all that life has tossed us. Believe me it has been a lot, I am talking dating, college, vacations together, marriages, divorces, dating after divorce, births, baby blessings, infertility, deaths of loved ones, cancer, moving away for school or jobs, so many highs and ya some lows as well but I don't think there is anything that we can't handle together. Nothing will break us up as friends! I have to say I am so very lucky and extremely blessed to have such a strong and wonderful group of friends. I know it sounds cliche, but I seriously don't know what I would do with out them in my life!!!! It was wonderful to see them especially since we have not had a girls weekend this past year like we try to do every year or so. I guess this will have to count. The BBQ was fun and all the kids had a blast especially on the rope swing over the river. Addy told me,"Mom it's just like on Bridge to Terabethia." He He He. All, well most all of the kids in the little club house. Anjies 2 oldest boys, Jackson and Jaden, were not there along with Alyssa,Becky's daughter. Once it was bedtime for the chitlins our nice hubbies took off with the kiddos and all us gals just stayed up chatting and laughing till 2:30 am. We are just not as young as we used to be. Oh well, nevertheless it was just like old times! I think at least one point in the night each one of us laughed so hard we said we were going to pee our pants! Yup just another sign we are not as young as we used to be!
Saturday we lazily got up and got ready and went to lunch with Heidi, Jeremy and Jaxon. It was obviously not to exciting for Dawson who fell asleep on the bench! That never happens, what is up with that boy! Then Bryan indulged me and we made a few, and I mean a few shopping stops before we met up at the Mortimers. Dawson was beyond excited to play with Hayden and Riley. It is always a good time at the Mortimers. Seriously I always laugh my butt off when we are together, mostly at Delon! So refreshing to have friends you can just laugh with and I cherish our friendship! Thanx Amiee and Delon.
Sunday we got up and headed to Mendon to visit Aunt Amber, which just so happened to be her Birthday! She would be the big 30 this year! The kids as well as I miss coming here more often. I think that has been really hard for me especially at certain times of the year to not be able to go and put flowers on or just visit, however it doesn't change the fact that I know she is with me wherever I live.
The kids decided to pick flowers and decorate Amber's grave. Addy said to me, "Mom the flowers represent our love. Each flower equals like 100 of our loves." So sweet! However I don't think there are enough flowers in the world to show that! After that we started toward home but not without stopping to see Grandma Ellen! We had to stop by and wish her a Happy 94th Birthday this week. Love ya Grandma!
We had a great weekend and I am so thankful for such wonderful friends who are a huge blessing in my life!!!
