We started off summer break with a little celebration!! We picked Addy up from school and then headed over to the movies to see Shrek in 3D with just Addy and Dawson. The movie was great but even better with the commentary and laughter from Dawson and Addy! After the movies it was home for our traditional -last day of school TACOS!!!! Then while Dad worked in the garden me and the kids headed for the park to play. It was so great to just be outside and enjoy the sun, each other and not worry about bed times. When Ky hit his wall we walked home and put him to bed. Once Ky was in bed and everyone had their jammies on we played a game of Monopoly (which I won). Addy and Dawson are a hoot to play that game with. Addy has to be the banker and does a great job. Dawson gets so excited about everything! By the end the kids, as well as myself, we plum tuckered out. It was a great way to kick of the beginning of our summer!!!!

Yesterday was Dawson's last day of preschool! He has learned so much this past year. He is full on reading!!!! I LOVE his teacher and think she has played a major role in his little life! He loves and adores her, as do I!!!!She has done a tremendous job of getting them prepared for Kindergarten which I think is why he already has a count down for Kindergarten! He loves to learn and I hope that never changes! So proud of you bud!!!

Fiddlers Art Night
Tonight Addy had her arts fair at school. Art night included each grades end of year program as well as a talent show, dinner inflatables for the kids. Addy decided she wanted to do a dance for the talent show. When her other friends dropped out Addy decided to just make it a solo. This is her first solo-EVER! I must say she rocked it!!!
I have to say I was a little nervous only because Addy never showed me the dance until today after school. I asked her all weekend, "Do ya need to work on your dance? Are ya nervous?" All to which she simply replied, "No". OK! I seriously thought she is just going to get up there and wing this. No biggie, right it's the elementary school talent show. But as a Mom I was, well slightly worried. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! She knew what she wanted and for the most part had it all planned out in her head! It was so fun to see her in her element! She even allowed me to make a few suggestions! I just love that girl!!!!!
After her solo and some Maggie Moo's we headed in the gym for her second grade program. It was a patriotic theme and they were all adorable!!!
Addy was-according to her- a bum basher!Addy and Brooklynn

End of the year dance recitals
Both Addy and Dawson had their dance recitals last weekend. They both did great! Dawson loves that, "the crowd goes wild" when they dance! Addy just loves to dance period. Any chance she gets, she'll jump at. Like dancing a solo at the school talent show! Yup that's right, we'll see how that goes but that's another post! Here are some pics of the recitals. I got more pics from Addy's because since she was in both the pre-show and the show (4 dances altogether) we got a sitter for the boys. Dawson came to the pre-show and then opted to go home to the sitter.
Not the best photo, but like I said I had Ky with me so this is the best I got!Addy's ballet in the pre- showAddy in her hip hop! We told her to keep all her attitude on the stage- and LEAVE IT THERE!!! Oh and she brought the attitude!!

Addy and her Dad!
Addy has truly found a passion for dance. As a parent I love that she has found that, her niche. It is great when your child finds something that makes them happy. I am so proud of her! And look forward to many more years of dance recital!!

T-Ball
Dawson had his very first T-ball game on Saturday. A lot of people tell me how much they hate t-ball. I have to say, I love it! How could you not love watching the faces of the boys when they realize that, yes they hit the ball. They run to first base and jump up and down like they hit a home run! Oh I love it!!! Addy asked him if they won the game and he replied, "There wasn't a score board there Addy so I don't think T-ball is all about winning. I think it's about just having fun." How cute is he! Pretty impressive for a guy who makes EVERYTHING a race or about winning in one way or another. Hope Dawson's first season is all wants it to be!!! Just the first of many I'm sure! Go Angels!
Ready to run the basses. Love his stance!

Mothers Day
Since Mothers Day fell on the same weekend as Ky's birthday, my Mom and Dad came up to spend the weekend with us. It was so nice to spend Mothers Day with my Mom. I am so grateful for my Mom's example to me. I look to her often for advice as well as my Mother in law. I am so lucky to be surrounded by wonderful women who are examples to not only me but my kids as well.
So one of the highlights of Mothers Day was being able to talk to Suz!!! Not only did we get to talk to Nanny but Dad made us his famous omelets!! Yummy!
Kids talking to Nanny!
The rest of Mothers Day was just a normal Sunday, with the exception of having my parents come to church with us. I love that I actually got to hear and enjoy the sacrament talks since, well since Bry's calling has him sit on the stand! The talks were great and just what I needed. I laughed and I cried.
Motherhood is so challenging and yet there is nothing I feel more blessed to be doing. Often, very often, I feel so inadequate to do the job that the Lord has entrusted me to do, especially because I do so much of it alone. Not that I'm complaining, because I'm not. It's just that often when I feel like I'm failing I don't always have Bry there to help me keep or put things in perspective. What I'm realizing is that despite my weaknesses, at the end of the day my Father in Heaven loves me and has entrusted 3 of his precious children to me. It is not only because of that but because of the 3 smiles I wake up to every morning that I strive to be better. I only hope to be the Mom they deserve, the Mom that Heavenly Father sees I can be. More than anything I hope my kids know with out a doubt that I love them more than anything! Nothing makes me happier than to be their Mom!

Walk For Autism
We headed up to Salt Lake the 1st weekend of May. On our way up we stopped and ate at the Training Table. My kids don't ever remember eating there, but they have. They loved it! The fav part was placing their order. Mine, of course the food!!
So our reason for going to Salt Lake was to participate in the Walk For Autism. We walked for team Preston! Preston is my cousin who has autism and we love him! It was so great to be able to be a part of something that effects so many people. Autism is the fastest growing diagnosis and yet less than 5% of research money goes to Autism. I was so happy to be involved to help raise money and awareness! Plus I really want to teach my kids the importance of service. We are so blessed and I want them to see that. I want them to be willing to give of themselves, to others and to causes that are important. It was a great day-despite the weather!
Team Preston
The kids & Aunt Tina with Cosmo.
As you can see the weather was awful. Cold and rainy. I was so proud of my kids. Addy never complained once. Dawson cried pretty much the whole walk, but tried to keep it on the down low. Ky was a trooper. I held him during the walk and he would occasionally sit up clap or holler with the rest of the crowd and then get all huddled up again. Unfortunately because the weather was so bad we didn't stay for the booths or the fun activities they had. Maybe next year!
After the walk we all got warmed up then headed over to Jessica and Bryan's house for a BBQ. By then the weather was actually better, meaning not raining and the sun was out!
Sunday we headed home. Obviously they were WORN OUT!!!
Wow, what a brother! Next family trip I'm sitting next to Dawson and getting a foot rub!
Addy being a diva....... dawson being a sweet brother. (sigh.) (By Addy)
