Christmas

Now on to Christmas, we spent Christmas with my family in a cabin in Zion. It was awesome and we all had such a great time. The kids loved the snow and enjoyed watching my nephews jump off the deck or the roof into the snow below. We played lots of games, watched movies, made and decorated cookies and ate a lot while enjoyed each others company. We ended our vacation with a family talent show, and let me tell you it rocked. I just might show you some footage if you all promise not to download our awesome talents to YOUTUBE.Addy, Dawson and their cousins decorating cookies for Santa!

On Christmas Eve the Elves always leave my kiddos a gift that they get to open on Christmas Eve. It is always PJ's and the kids get so excited to open them. They were so cute this year the elves did a great job if I do say so myself!

On Christmas morning the kids were so excited that Santa had come. Santa only left the stockings at the cabin, He left all the families presents at their own home. Santa is so smart! Here is all the kiddos on Christmas morning!

Last but not least before we left the cabin we had a family talent show. It was HILARIOUS to say the least. My brother and my nephew did a dance to Ice Ice Baby, my Dad sang a song about growing old, my nephews boxed a little routine to "The eye of the Tiger", my little fam did a dance to HSM2 Humuhumunukunukuapua'a, all the boy cousins(Dawson and Mason because Braiden fell asleep) did a dance to Little Einsteins choreographed by the girl cousins(Hannah, Hailey and Addy),the girls did a dance to HSM2 Fabulous which I recorded and will show ya, my mom did the song from South Pacific "I'm going to wash that man right out of my hair" while she literally washed her hair and sang, me and all of my sisters(Tina, Jeni, me, Heather and Tisha) did a dance to "Save a horse, Ride a Cowboy", sorry no video for that dance! Here are some collages of the dances along with a video of Addy, Hannah and Hailey's dance.

December events

December has come and gone and like all of you I have been so busy that my blogging has taken a back seat. I am just going to sum up December in one post hitting my highlights, so fasten your seat belts, here we go!
Addy and Dawson started December off by being in the children parade. They had a great time on the Noah's Ark float. They loved dressing up. It was even more fun for us to watch the parade with them in it.

Christmas is a wonderful time to teach our children about being grateful and giving to others. I am always looking for new ways to teach my kids, this year we did something we have never done before. Truth be told I personally really did not want to do it, however I thought it would be good experience for our kids so I signed us up to be bell ringers for the salvation army at non other than Wal-Mart. We only had to do a half hour which made the event fun, for my kids anyway. It was really good for my kids to give of their time and understand how really blessed we are. They did have fun in the process. Dawson and I were at one side of Wal-Mart and Addy and Bryan were at the other. Dawson loved ringing the bell and dancing around while telling people Merry Christmas! All in all it was a fun learning experience.

Addy and I on are way to ring the bell!
December was packed with recitals and programs. Dawson had his school program and it was so cute. He did such a good job singing, which he loves to do. I took a video so enjoy!

Addy also had her Christmas dance recital. She did such a great job. She has really improved this past year and loves to dance. She looked so cute and so grown up!

Among all the hustle and bustle Bryan and I were able to-or should I say we made time-catch SUU play our beloved USU Aggies. It was so great to see them play and sport the blue attire! We had a great time at the game and the Aggies played really well and won of course, like we had any doubt. I must say the SUU does have a good team and it will be fun to cheer for them this year.

This month for Kyler has been eventful as well. He has learned to crawl up the stairs, scary I know. He is trying so hard to walk, he has taken a few little steps between the couches. He is just growing up way to fast. It has been really fun to watch him.

Bamboozled?!?!

Let me start off by saying how much I love my little Addy, however she may just have pulled a quick one on me today. I don't view myself as easily suckered, but I think I was today-or was I, you be the judge.
So this morning started out as any other morning. Addy did tell me her tummy hurt. Addy complains about her tummy hurting at least 2 times a week. After she either eats or goes to the bathroom, she is fine. She has never wanted to stay home from school before and this morning was really no different except she kept complaining, even after she went to the potty and had 3 (yes 3) bowls of cereal. While I was doing her hair I asked if she wanted to stay home from school and she kind of hesitated and said "No, but my tummy still hurts". I informed her she could stay home but that she would not be able to play, she would have to rest. She quickly said she wanted to go to school. I told her if her tummy kept hurting to call me. 11:00 came the call and Bryan went to get her. When she got home she told me her tummy continued to hurt but got worse at daily 5-whatever that is. Mrs. Harris then sent her to the office. O.K. so I made her 2 pieces of toast which she ate with no hesitation. Then she went to her bed and either read or took about a 45 minute nap. When she came out she said she wanted a PB&J. I made her one and she downed that. I was getting Dawson ready for school when I came out and found Addy totally playing on the floor with Ky. Wow I said it looks like your feeling better. She smiled and kept right on playing. A minute later I pulled her aside to talk to her about her tummy and she said her tummy felt better now but it still hurt a little right at her belly button. The conversation continued like this.......
Me- Addy did your tummy really hurt this morning?
A- Yeah.
M-Did it hurt all day?
A-Well it felt a little better and then it started to get worse.
M-Did anything happen at school today?
A-No
M-Why did you want to come home, was it really because of your tummy?
A-Well yeah and we weren't really doing any fun Christmas project and I was kind of bored and tired of school.
I was not sure if I should laugh or be mad. I mean she played the part pretty well, she took a nap for heaven sake. I don't doubt that her tummy may have hurt but not bad enough to come home. So I finished our little conversation by laying the law down. I told her it was not OK to just come home like this unless she was REALLY sick. Then bless her sweet little heart she offered to go back to school, to which I firmly replied sorry chica, you already made your choice.
I wanted to laugh to because part of me was like, well I can't blame her for wanting to have a day off if she was bored. BUT COME ON SHE IS 6!!! I MEAN REALLY! What 6 year old gets bored of school already, especially with all the holiday projects and all. So what do you think? Was I bamboozled?

Merry Thanksgiving Christmas Day!

I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!! We had a great week filled with lots of fun. We went to the movies, shopping and played lots of games and ate a TON. We celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas on Thanksgiving day with Bryan's family. I was different yet so fun! All of the family was there, so it was a perfect time to celebrate.

The fam on Thanksgiving morning.

Had to get one by the tree for the Christmas celebration. Asking Dawson to be still and smile must be like some midevil torture for him, as you can see by all of his photos. What a cheese ball!

After the best omelets ever(made by my Dad in law) we went down stairs to open Christmas presents. Here are just a few snap shots.

Grandma and Grandpa with Addy and Dawson.

Addy got her very own digital camera! This is the only other picture I got because she was to busy taking her own pics and videos.

Dawson was so elated at his present from Grandma and Grandpa. Gee do you think he likes sports???Dawson with Aunt Fefe and Uncle Richard. He LOVES the eating tractor thingie! Way to go Aunt Fefe and Uncle Richard and Aunt Nannie!!

Ky was a little intrigued by the unwrapping of the presents. When we opened them out of the box was when he got really got excited.

Not to get all cheesy but I am so grateful for my family, my husband and my kids. I love them so much and just hope I can be the wife and mother they deserve. On that same note I am so grateful for my mother in law who is so amazing!!! She works so hard at everything she does and just makes everything perfect. She is a great grandma. My kids are so lucky to have her. My in laws all together are just awsome. I am just so lucky to have such wonderful families.
